Sculpture, at the size of a hand.
Every piece starts as wax, carved at full size with the same tools a sculptor uses for a maquette. Nothing is drawn on a screen first.
What survives the carving is what feels right against skin: weight that sits low, edges rubbed away, an opening where the light gets in.
The name
nodo
noun, Italian · knot
The pendant the house is named after. One loop of metal turns back through itself and stops, the way a good knot holds without being pulled tight.

How a piece is made
What goes into every piece.
- Vicenza

- Carved in our studio and cast by a family foundry two streets away. The city has worked gold for seven centuries.
- Lost wax
- How
- Each form is carved by hand in wax, then cast: the wax melts out and the metal takes its exact place, tool marks and all.
- 100%
- Silver
- Recycled 925 sterling silver, refined in Italy. Silver is the body of every piece, gold or not.
- 3 µm
- Gold
- 18k gold vermeil, several times thicker than ordinary plating, so it wears slowly. We replate in the studio when it does.
- By hand
- Finish
- Polished on cotton wheels until the surface shows no marks, only light. About two hours for a ring, a day for the cuff.
