A studio of three in Vicenza, making jewelry the way you would make a small sculpture.

Started at a sculptor's bench

NODO began in 2021, when Livia Marchetti, who trained as a sculptor in Venice and spent ten years casting bronzes for other artists, started carving forms small enough to wear.

She kept the method she knew. Every piece is modelled in wax at full size, by hand, and cast by the lost-wax process. The forms are soft and slightly irregular because that is what wax and fingers make.

We release very little. Acqua Ferma is five pieces, and it will stay five pieces.

One room, two streets from the foundry

Our studio is a ground-floor room in the old centre of Vicenza, a city of goldsmiths. The foundry that casts our pieces is two streets away, run by the same family since 1962.

Carving, finishing, polishing and packing all happen in that room. You are welcome to visit; write to us first.

Silver underneath, gold on top

Every piece has a body of recycled 925 sterling silver, refined in Italy.

Gold pieces are finished in 18k gold vermeil: 3 µm of gold, several times the thickness of ordinary plating. When it wears, after years rather than months, we replate it in the studio.

Boxes are travertine-grey recycled board, with a cotton pouch and a polishing cloth. No plastic.
